The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tatale-Sanguli Constituency has taken decisive action against 56 members accused of working against the party’s interests during the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections. This decision, announced in a letter dated January 15, 2025, signed by the Constituency Chairman, Mr. Kpachin Nambu, was addressed to the National Chairman of the NPP and the public.
Citing Article 3, Clauses (9)(1) and (7)(1) of the party’s constitution, the letter highlights that members who engage in activities detrimental to the party’s success, including supporting opposition candidates or spreading falsehoods against the party, risk suspension. Specific allegations include:
- Acting as polling agents for independent candidates.
- Working openly to promote National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidates.
- Propagating falsehoods to undermine the NPP’s candidates.
The letter names 56 individuals, including former constituency executives and youth organizers, who allegedly violated the party’s principles. Among the notable names are Mr. Kwesi Spong (former Constituency Chairman), Mr. Peter Sandol (former Constituency Secretary), and Mr. Ngupri Prosper (former Communication Officer).
The letter emphasizes the importance of unity and solidarity within the NPP, warning that actions undermining the party’s mission will not be tolerated. It also grants the request of Mr. Godfrey Napari Wajah, a Secretary to the Council of Elders, to leave the party.
The NPP urged members to uphold the party’s values and pledged to build a strong political organization that represents constituents’ interests. The letter concludes by inviting any questions or concerns to be directed to the Constituency Disciplinary Committee.
