NPP Supporters Storm Parliament Amid Tensions Over Vacant Seats

Supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gathered at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on October 22, 2024, ahead of a tense parliamentary session. Dressed in party paraphernalia, including t-shirts featuring NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Majority Chief Whip Frank Annoh Dompreh, the group arrived amidst ongoing political drama.

Their presence comes as National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament plan to occupy the Majority side, despite a Supreme Court order halting the execution of Speaker Alban Bagbin’s declaration on four vacant seats. In response, heavy security has been deployed to ensure peace within Parliament.
