NPP is Not in a Good Place to Retain Power in 2024 General Election – Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto

Concerns Raised by Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto Highlight NPP’s Challenging Path to Retain Power in 2024

In a recent media interaction held in Kumasi, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, a hopeful flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), voiced his apprehensions about the party’s prospects in the upcoming 2024 election. He expressed concerns that the NPP is currently facing a significant risk of losing the election, primarily due to dwindling morale among its core supporters.

Dr. Afriyie Akoto, who is currently touring various regions ahead of the November 4th delegates’ conference, acknowledged the prevailing low morale among NPP activists nationwide. These activists had anticipated an improved quality of life, which has not materialized as expected. According to him, this scenario indicates that the NPP may not be in a favorable position to secure another term in office.

During his media interaction, Dr. Afriyie Akoto urged party delegates to make their votes count during the forthcoming conference by electing him as the party leader. He emphasized that the welfare and prosperity of the NPP are intertwined with his leadership, citing his extensive experience and understanding of grassroots issues gained as a Member of Parliament in Kwadaso, Kumasi.

“Anybody who aspires to bear the flag of the NPP, that should be the priority. I have a very clear understanding of the problems on the ground; I have been a member of Parliament at Kwadaso, so I understand the concerns expressed by activists on the ground,” stated Dr. Afriyie Akoto.
