Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, Oxlade, recently revealed intriguing details about his collaboration on Sarkodie’s track, ‘Non-Living Thing.’
During an interview on Day Break Hitz with Andy Dosty, the ‘Kulosa’ crooner shared that he initially recorded the song for his personal project but eventually decided to offer it to the B.E.T award-winning rapper, Sarkodie.
Explaining the genesis of the collaboration, Oxlade mentioned, “I was the one who told him that I had a song for him. It was supposed to be on my project. It’s a record I created and I said that this song is meant for Sark. I knew in my heart that the song was meant to be for him.”
The decision to give the song to Sarkodie, according to Oxlade, turned out to be an incredibly astute move. He expressed delight in the collaboration, highlighting its success as one of the best decisions he has ever made.
Sharing the process, Oxlade recounted, “He came to Lagos to do promo and I played it for him and he was like, ‘yeah, let’s do this.’ After we shot the video, the song became one of the biggest songs. I feel like that is one of the best moves I’ve ever made.”
The collaboration between Sarkodie and Oxlade on ‘Non-Living Thing’ has undeniably made a significant impact, emerging as one of the standout releases of 2021. The track was featured in Sarkodie’s highly acclaimed ‘No Pressure’ album.
