Nigerian Actor RMD Calls for Another Chance for Mahama in 2024 Election

Renowned Nigerian actor Richard Mofe Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has expressed his support for John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the upcoming 2024 Ghanaian presidential election.

Speaking on the red carpet of the 2024 EMY Awards in Accra, RMD urged Ghanaians to vote for a candidate who prioritizes the well-being of the people above all else.

“I think they shouldn’t make the mistake that Africans often make. They should vote for the best man, the man who has your back. Not many candidates on the ballot genuinely have your back,” RMD stated. He further emphasized that Ghanaians know who has their best interests at heart and should make an informed decision.

RMD revealed that he has a personal preference in the race, adding, “I like Mahama.”

When asked by Doreen Avio if he was personally acquainted with Mahama, RMD responded, “I have never met him. However, every time I pass through the airport, I notice that he built it. Many of my Ghanaian friends also tell me he accomplished a lot, and I think Ghanaians should give him another chance to see how far he can go.”

Ghana is set to go to the polls on December 7, 2024, to elect a new president and Members of Parliament for the next four years. Mahama, who served as President from 2013 to 2017, is contesting the presidency again after losing his second bid in 2020.
