NDC MPs Occupy Majority Side in Parliament, NPP Walks Out

Tensions rose in Parliament on October 22, 2024, as National Democratic Congress (NDC) MPs arrived early and took seats on the Majority side.

In addition to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) MPs refusing to sit on the Minority side, claiming they hold the majority, they have also left the chamber and returned to their offices.

The NDC MPs have stated they will only relocate if instructed by Speaker Alban Bagbin.

However, the Supreme Court has stayed the Speaker’s ruling after the NPP challenged it.
