A new pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) group, named ‘NAPO Ladies,’ has been officially established. The group’s mission is to promote the achievements of NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as the December 7 general elections approach.
In a statement signed by the group’s coordinator, Maame Yaa Dufie, it was emphasized, “We stand united in the pursuit of mobilizing support from the youth through relentless campaigning, for the NPP to make history.”
The NPP is focused on ‘breaking the 8’ with the Bawumia-NAPO ticket, aiming to extend their governance beyond the usual two-term limit.
NAPO Ladies is a voluntary group of enthusiastic women dedicated to advancing the vision of NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and his running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh. Historically, women within the NPP have been a formidable force, contributing significantly to the party’s growth and success at all levels.
The women of the NPP have played pivotal roles in the party’s electoral victories in both presidential and parliamentary elections. The contributions of women were crucial in the success stories of President John Agyekum Kufuor’s administration and have continued to be significant under the Akufo-Addo government.
As the NPP aims to break the 8-year election cycle in the 4th Republic, women are once again at the forefront. The formation of NAPO Ladies is a strategic move to bolster the NPP presidential ticket and work towards a decisive victory in the December 7, 2024, general elections.
Through advocacy and various activities, NAPO Ladies will fully support the presidential candidate and his running mate, promoting their message of hope to the Ghanaian electorate. The group will highlight the achievements of the NPP governments, such as the flagship Free SHS policy and the digitization program, and campaign vigorously for more votes for their presidential candidate.
“We stand united in the pursuit of mobilizing support from the youth through relentless campaigning, for the NPP to make history,” reiterated Maame Yaa Dufie.
