A 24-year-old mobile money (MoMo) vendor, known only as ‘Junior,’ has been found dead in his one-room apartment at Kwadaso in the Ashanti Region, after being attacked by unknown assailants.

The attackers reportedly fled with an undisclosed amount of money, leaving the young vendor in a pool of blood. Junior, who operated his MoMo business at the Kwadaso Onion Market, was last seen returning home on Saturday night with what eyewitnesses described as a substantial amount of cash.

“He mostly comes home with huge sums of money after closing from work,” a neighbor said. “He probably caught the attention of the robbers, leading to his attack.”

Police have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made so far.

Residents of Kwadaso are now living in fear and are calling on authorities to strengthen security in the area. This incident follows a similar case last month, where 27-year-old MoMo vendor Patricia Nimako was shot and killed by suspected armed robbers at Krofrom in Kumasi, who escaped with GHC 10,000 and mobile phones.

“We are currently in a state of fear and are calling on the Ashanti Regional Police Command to beef up security in Kwadaso,” a resident urged.
