Mohammed Kudus Linked to High-Value Move to Al Ittihad

West Ham United are facing a challenge to retain their forward Mohammed Kudus, as Saudi Pro League club Al Ittihad has shown significant interest in signing the Ghanaian star this summer.

Kudus had an impressive debut season at the London Stadium, netting 14 goals since his transfer from Ajax last year. Despite West Ham’s appointment of Julen Lopetegui as their new manager, the club is determined to keep the 23-year-old international.

Reports from ESPN indicate that Al Ittihad, who already boast high-profile players like Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kanté, are among several clubs in the Premier League and Europe eyeing Kudus.

Additionally, there is interest from Saudi Arabia in another West Ham player, Brazilian international Lucas Paquetá. Al Nassr is seeking a creative central midfielder and has Paquetá on their radar. However, any potential deal is complicated by charges from the Football Association (FA) against Paquetá for alleged spot-fixing, which he denies. The FA alleges that Paquetá intentionally received bookings to influence the betting market for profit.

Al Nassr is also interested in Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes. Meanwhile, Newcastle United striker Callum Wilson has attracted attention from the Saudi Pro League. Wilson, who scored 10 goals last season, has one year remaining on his contract at St James’ Park. Although Newcastle manager Eddie Howe is eager to keep the 32-year-old, the club may consider selling him if the right offer comes along. Atlético Madrid had shown interest in Wilson during the January transfer window, but he missed out on a spot in the England squad for Euro 2024.
