Veteran Nigerian radio journalist Hamisu Danjibga, who extensively covered insecurity in Zamfara state, was declared missing and later found dead in a pit behind his house.
The Voice of Nigeria (VON) labeled it a murder by “terrorists,” and the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and press organizations have condemned his alleged killing. Zamfara state Governor Dauda Lawal has ordered a probe into the incident.
Fellow journalists admired Danjibga’s distinctive broadcast voice, which set him apart during his long reporting career.
