The Ministry of Health has unveiled a health television station, MoH TV, in Accra, in a significant move to boost public health education. This initiative aims to educate, inspire, and empower every citizen of Ghana to make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being.
MoH TV envisions emerging as the pre-eminent source of reliable health information, illuminating the path towards better health outcomes for all Ghanaians.
The outgoing Minister for Health, Hon. Kwaku Agyeman-Manu, who launched the TV station in his address, mentioned that the Ministry introduced its health television channel in 2018, recognizing the positive impact that health education promotion holds on population health.
Highlighting the functions of MOH TV, Hon. Agyeman-Manu emphasized its roles in contributing to the knowledge and understanding of health behavior through electronic media, advocating for increased investment in the Ghana health industry, nurturing leaders for the growth of the nation’s health systems, and serving as a valuable health promotion resource for both the community and the entire population of Ghana.
He stated that MOH TV stands as a testament to the ministry’s strong dedication to the health and prosperity of the nation, highlighting its role as not just a television channel but also as a platform for fostering dialogue, innovation, and collective action.
