Medical Laboratory Workers Suspend Strike

The Medical Laboratory Professional Workers Union (MELPWU) has suspended its strike, which began on June 17, in protest of the government’s delay in addressing their service conditions.

The strike was called off following an intervention by the National Labour Commission (NLC) on June 20, which instructed the union to cease their industrial action and re-engage in negotiations with the government. In response, the National Executive Council of MELPWU convened a meeting and unanimously decided to suspend the strike.
