A plastic recycling and manufacturing plant at Weija in the Greater Accra Region was gutted by a massive fire that started around 1:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025.
The blaze spread rapidly through the facility, sending thick smoke into the sky and creating panic among residents in the area.
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), supported by four fire trucks and equipment from the Assembly’s District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), worked to contain the inferno and successfully prevented it from spreading beyond the company’s premises.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, but no casualties have been reported.
