A High Court in Accra has sentenced 47-year-old Boigouna Aloys, a Burkinabe national, to life imprisonment for the murder of his German wife, Claudia Weizmann, and their 14-year-old daughter at Kokrobite, Accra.

The conviction followed a unanimous guilty verdict by a seven-member jury on two counts of murder. Aloys reportedly killed his wife by striking her head with a hammer after an argument. Fearing their daughter might alert the authorities, he strangled her and buried both bodies on their property.

Police investigations began after neighbors reported a foul smell and noticed the disappearance of the victims. Aloys eventually confessed, explaining the details of the tragic incident. The family had relocated from Germany to Ghana in January 2020, where they resided on a 10-plot property in Kokrobite.
