John Dramani Mahama, presidential candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Bawku residents to avoid further escalation of the region’s conflicts. Speaking at a mini rally in Saboba as part of his Northern Regional campaign, Mahama urged the community’s chiefs and residents to prioritize peaceful coexistence. He assured that if elected, his administration would work to restore peace in Bawku.
Highlighting his commitment to development, Mahama also criticized the neglect of projects initiated during his previous term, such as a community center in Saboba. He pledged to complete these projects and initiate new ones, including a state-of-the-art bridge over the Oti River.
His Northern Regional campaign, under the banner #Mahama4Change2024, began with visits to Chereponi in the North East Region, where he met with residents to encourage community engagement in his campaign. NDC supporters turned out in large numbers to show their support, with similar rallies held in Tatale and Zabzugu.
