In a heartfelt tribute on the tenth anniversary of Komla Dumor’s untimely death, Alan Kyeremanten, founder of the Movement for Change, disclosed a profound connection with the late BBC broadcaster. Kyeremanten revealed that had one of his earlier presidential bids succeeded, Dumor would have been his Vice President.

Expressing their common ground and friendship, Kyeremanten shared, “Komla would have been my Vice-Presidential Nominee in one of my earlier Presidential Primary bids.” He highlighted their shared birthdate on October 3, referring to themselves as “soul brothers.”

Despite the age difference, Kyeremanten emphasized the deep connection he shared with Dumor, citing their mature and thoughtful discussions on various issues. The former Trade and Industry Minister praised Dumor’s maturity and depth of reasoning, considering him not just a colleague but a close friend.

Komla Dumor passed away on January 18, 2014, from a heart attack at his home in Rickmansworth. Kyeremanten’s revelation adds a new dimension to Dumor’s legacy, shedding light on the camaraderie and shared vision between the two men. As Ghana reflects on the tenth anniversary of Dumor’s passing, Kyeremanten’s disclosure sparks poignant reflections on what might have been.
