Kidnapped South African Pentecost Deacon Released 

Elder Emmanuel Cudjoe, the National Deacon of the Church of Pentecost (CoP) in South Africa, who was abducted during a church service, has reportedly been released and returned home unharmed. This joyful news was shared through a WhatsApp conversation, as reported by Citi News.

The National Head Pastor in South Africa, Apostle A. Yiadom-Boakye, expressed his gratitude, saying, “God has done it, dear saints. By the grace of God, the National Deacon, Elder Emmanuel Cudjoe, has now returned home, alive. God has done it again, miraculously. Thank you for your prayers.”

The incident unfolded on Sunday, October 29, 2023, during a church service at the Johannesburg branch of the Ghanaian Church of Pentecost. Members of the congregation were subjected to a terrifying armed robbery, during which their valuables were stolen, and Elder Emmanuel Cudjoe was kidnapped.

Ghana’s High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa, swiftly reassured the public and the Church of Pentecost that they are collaborating with the South African Police Service (SAPS) to ensure the swift and safe release of the CoP deacon. In a statement issued on Monday, the High Commission of Ghana stated, “The Mission is presently working with the Church in cooperation with the South African Police Service (SAPS) to ensure the speedy and safe release and return of the victim to his family.”

The South African Police are fully committed to resolving the situation and ensuring the safe return of their fellow countryman. As of now, both the Church of Pentecost and Ghana’s Mission in South Africa have not yet officially issued a statement regarding these recent developments.
