Kade SHS assault: Five suspects fined GH¢3,800 each

The Kade Circuit Court has fined five individuals arrested in connection with the assault of Michael Quayson, a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School, GH¢3,800 each.

The ruling was delivered on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, by the court presided over by His Worship George Davis Ofori. Out of the total fine, GH¢1,800 is payable to the court, while GH¢2,000 is to be paid as compensation to the victim.

The court further ordered that failure to pay the full amount will result in a six-month custodial sentence for any of the convicted persons.

Those convicted are Felix Darquah, Isaac Baah, Richmond Yeboah, Edward Baah, and Maxwell Kwasi Antwi.

The assault incident occurred in October 2025 after the teacher, Michael Quayson, reportedly refused to allow the suspects to cheat during the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
