Individuals Willing to Hold Public Positions Would Have Their Assets Publicly Declared – Alan Kyerematen

Former NPP Member Alan Kyerematen Vows Transparency in 2024 Presidential Bid

In a recent interview with TV3, former New Patriotic Party (NPP) member Alan Kyerematen declared his commitment to transparency in public office as he announced his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election as an Independent Candidate.

During the televised interview, Kyerematen emphasized the importance of asset declaration for anyone seeking public office. He firmly stated that all individuals aspiring to hold public office under his potential tenure as president would be required to declare their assets without exception. He expressed the view that there should be complete transparency and nothing to hide for those who wish to serve the nation.

“If one thinks that, for one reason or another, they cannot declare their assets, then that position is not for them,” Kyerematen asserted, underlining his commitment to accountability and ethical governance.

Kyerematen’s decision to run as an Independent Candidate comes after his resignation from the NPP, citing a feeling of undervaluation within the party and a perception that greediness had accumulated over the years. His departure from the party he had long been associated with underscores his dedication to bringing a fresh perspective to Ghanaian politics.
