The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohonu, has dispatched over 100 police officers to the Ashanti Region for a special, classified security operation designed to enhance public safety and uphold law and order.
The deployment, which forms part of the Ghana Police Service’s broader strategy to reinforce peace and stability, will be conducted in partnership with the Ghana Armed Forces to ensure maximum operational effectiveness.
Speaking on behalf of the IGP, the Director-General, Technical, COP Dr. Sayibu Pabi Gariba, emphasized the need for professionalism, teamwork, and discipline among the officers. He urged personnel to work in unity, remain firm, and adhere strictly to operational guidelines.
“We are going to undertake a special operation in the region. The locations will be disclosed as we go. The IGP expects you to be professional, robust, and ensure you execute your task as briefed. Move in groups—no one should operate in isolation,” Dr. Gariba directed.
He also cautioned officers against sharing details of the mission, stressing that it was a highly classified operation. “No one is allowed to take videos, pictures, or send WhatsApp messages about what is going on. Avoid disclosing any information about the locations or nature of the operation,” he warned.
