The Ministry of Health has established a seven-member committee to investigate allegations of unethical medical practices at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge).

In a statement signed by the Ministry’s spokesperson, Tony Goodman, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing ethical standards and restoring public confidence in Ghana’s healthcare system.

The committee is chaired by Alhaji Dr (Pharm) Inua Yusuf, Esq., Head and Director of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Health. It has been tasked to conduct a comprehensive and independent inquiry into the reported unethical practices at the two public health facilities.

In addition, the committee will assess the adequacy and effectiveness of existing governance, oversight, and control mechanisms in preventing unauthorised and unethical activities within the affected institutions.

The statement disclosed that the Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has directed the committee to submit its final report, together with recommendations, by February 10, 2026.
