The Office of the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has dismissed as false social media posters claiming that he intends to contest the flagbearership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a press statement issued on Thursday, February 5, 2026, the office clarified that the posters circulating online did not originate from Mr Iddrisu or any of his representatives and should be treated as misleading and baseless.

The statement urged the general public and party supporters to completely disregard the materials, stressing that they do not reflect the intentions or political plans of the Minister.

According to the office, Mr Iddrisu remains fully focused on his responsibilities as Minister for Education and as Member of Parliament for Tamale South. It further disclosed that he is currently in Lusaka, Zambia, accompanying President John Dramani Mahama on official state engagements.
