The Ghana Union of Traders’ Associations (GUTA) has declared its intention to engage with political parties in the run-up to the 2024 general election. The leadership of GUTA has directed its members nationwide to welcome all political parties for constructive engagement.
In a statement signed by the President, Dr. Joseph Obeng, the initiative aims to facilitate a dialogue between political parties and GUTA members. This interaction will allow political parties to share their visions with the association, gain insights into the needs of the trading community, and explore how the parties can address those needs. Additionally, GUTA sees this as an opportunity to contribute input into the manifestos of the political parties.
Highlighting the significance of the trading sector in the economy, the statement emphasizes that these interactions will enable the business community to conduct critical and thorough analyses of the various parties and their capabilities. The outcomes of these engagements will inform the decision-making process of the Association as they approach the upcoming general election.
