Ghana’s Ambassador to China, Dr. Winfred Nii Okai Hammond, has praised Zonda Tec Ghana Limited for its efforts in training and creating job opportunities for Ghanaian youth.
The company, which has established an assembling point in Ghana, is set to train and equip individuals employed to work with engineers from China.
Speaking at a news conference in Accra to introduce new machinery produced by Zonda and Shantui, Dr. Hammond highlighted the significance of Zonda Tec’s presence in Ghana in contributing to the government’s industrialization agenda under the One District, One Factory program.
The newly introduced machinery includes bulldozers, motor graders, road rollers, excavators, road ratters, and pave loaders.
Dr. Hammond emphasized the importance of industrialization in job creation and urged the government to focus on the automotive and vehicle assembly industry to create more jobs for young people and boost the local economy.
He urged Zonda Tec Ghana Limited to continue its efforts in creating job opportunities for young people in the country and called for government-private sector partnerships to reduce unemployment.
He also encouraged the company to ensure that communities benefit from its corporate social responsibilities.
Madam Yang Yang, Managing Director of Zonda Tec Ghana Limited, stated that the establishment of an assembling point in Ghana was a strategic move by the company to create jobs and provide practical skills to Ghanaians in manufacturing and fixing heavy machinery.
She emphasized that the company’s machinery was affordable, durable, and compliant with legal requirements, as they obtain licenses from the Minerals Commission for all sales.
