Ghanaian Transgender, Ohemartin Slams Sam George Over LGBTQ+ Bill

Ghanaian transgender Ohemartin has taken aim at Sam George and other ‘ignorant’ Ghanaians for wasting their education.

According to her during an interview on the Delay show, there are literate illiterates walking this country who have wasted their education.

Ohemartin was responding following a question from Delay that there are people in Ghana who think being trans is a mental illness.

According to her, people who hold such views are ignorant and have wasted their education.

Notable Ghanaians such as Ningo Prampram MP Sam George and Moses Foh-Amoaning all hold that view and are trying to push through a bill to criminalise the LGBT.

Responding to them, Ohemartin said these people have attended school and hold degrees but are actually illiterate because they wasted their education.

“I think it’s just a vague opinion. It’s just ignorance. You know we have literates who are illiterates. People have gone to school but it’s all wasted, people are not applying sense,” she slammed.

Ohemartin is one of Ghana’s most notable transgender personalities alongside Angel Maxine.

Delay questioned her over what she would do if Sam George’s bill is passed into law since that will mean a five-year jail term for her.

According to her, there is no way she’s going to jail in Ghana, even if the bill is passed.
