The Ghana Police Service has refuted widespread reports alleging that Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has died.
In a statement posted on X on Sunday, November 30, the Police said it had taken note of false claims circulating online suggesting the IGP had passed away. The Service stressed that the rumours are entirely untrue.
According to the statement, IGP Yohuno is alive, healthy, and actively performing his duties. The Police urged the public, Service personnel, and the IGP’s family to disregard the misleading reports.
It further condemned the circulation of such false information, describing it as a malicious and irresponsible act. The Police warned that spreading disinformation is a criminal offense, and anyone found culpable will be prosecuted.
