The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old Nigerian national suspected of killing a woman and her daughter in Nigeria before fleeing to Ghana to evade arrest. The suspect, identified as Victor Benjamin Fejemirokum, was apprehended in Akwatia following intelligence-led operations.

According to a press release issued on November 23, 2025, the arrest followed the interception of a viral video alleging that Fejemirokum had abducted and murdered a lady who worked with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and her daughter in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The Nigerian Police had already declared him wanted when he fled across the border.

Investigations revealed that the suspect had been hiding at his friend’s residence in Akyem Wenchi, a suburb of Akwatia. Acting on the tip-off, the Eastern South Regional Police Command swiftly deployed officers to the hideout, leading to his arrest.
