The Ghana Education Service (GES) has strongly condemned an assault on a teacher at the Kade Senior High Technical School after a disturbing video of the incident went viral on social media. The teacher, identified as Mr. Michael Quayson, was reportedly attacked by some past students of the school.

According to a preliminary report requested by GES management, the incident occurred on October 5, 2025. The aggrieved former students allegedly assaulted the teacher because they were displeased with his strict supervision during the invigilation of the Christian Religious Studies (CRS) paper in the 2025 WASSCE examination.

GES noted that the school authorities and its own management were not informed about the assault when it occurred. It only came to their attention after the recording of the attack surfaced online. The Service has since taken over the matter, with investigations currently underway.

The management of GES described the act as unacceptable, unlawful, and a direct attack on the dignity of the teaching profession. It emphasized that such conduct cannot be tolerated within the educational system.

The Service urged all students across the country to respect authority and adhere to rules and regulations within their schools.

The statement was signed by Daniel Fenny, Head of Public Relations at GES.
