Gas Explosion Claims Life of 50-Year-Old Carbide Welder in Suame Magazine

In a tragic incident on Monday, March 25, 2024, a 50-year-old carbide welder, identified as Kwabena Afriyie from Offinso, lost his life in a gas explosion at the Suame Magazine in the Ashanti Region.

The unfortunate event occurred around 4 pm while Afriyie was working on a car. Eyewitnesses reported that a liquid oxygen cylinder exploded, causing fatal injuries to the welder.

Mr. Saani Abubarkar, an eyewitness, stated that Afriyie died instantly, with his body mutilated by the force of the explosion. The police have since conveyed the mutilated body parts to the morgue.
