Martha Ankomah is a Ghanaian actress and entrepreneur known for her contributions to the Ghanaian and African film industry.

Personal Life:
Martha Ankomah was born on October 10, 1985, in Accra, Ghana. She grew up in a Christian family and has often expressed her strong Christian beliefs and values. Her family background and upbringing have had a significant influence on her life and career choices.

Education:
Martha Ankomah attended Adabraka Presbyterian Junior High School and later continued her education at Labone Senior High School, both located in Accra, Ghana. Her educational background provided her with a solid foundation for her future endeavors.

Acting Career:
Martha Ankomah made her acting debut in the Ghanaian film industry in the late 1990s. She quickly gained recognition for her talent and versatility as an actress. Over the years, she has appeared in numerous Ghanaian and Nollywood (Nigerian) films, showcasing her acting prowess. Some of her notable films include “Heart of Men,” “Sin of the Soul,” and “Princess Tyra.”

She claims that in 1994, her cousin introduced her to acting. She entered Next Movie Star and finished third in the 2007 season of the reality show after participating in various movie auditions and acting in some television series and film productions. Ankomah revealed in a 2016 interview with Hitz FM that going forward, she will only pursue parts that are morally righteous and result in meaningful social change. She reaffirmed her viewpoint in September 2018 by saying that she may play any role in a movie as long as it sends a positive message to its viewers.When Ankomah questioned the flimsy narrative of Ghanaian films in 2017, she received criticism from certain people involved in the film industry.

She voiced worry that the business needed to alter the films’ themes in order to advance. Her comments were viewed as disrespectful and ignorant of the craft of filmmaking by film makers. She started a campaign to promote reading among young people in November 2018.

She has been a brand ambassador for Globacom since 2018.Ankomah was chosen as the brand representative for the new “Adepa Dumas” fabric by Ghana Textiles Printers (GTP) in 2018.

She gave a video endorsement to Latif Abubakar’s play “Something Must Kill A Man” in August 2021, claiming that the piece has a lot to offer the general audience.
