French Rapper Mohammed Sylla Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison for Murder

French rapper Mohamed Sylla, who is widely recognized as the originator of the music genre known as “Afro-trap,” has been sentenced to 12 years in prison by a Paris court for his involvement in the gang-related murder of 23-year-old victim Loic K in 2018.

 

The court in the French capital found 29-year-old MHD, as he is known in the music world, guilty of playing a role in the tragic killing of Loic K, who was struck by MHD’s Mercedes and then brutally attacked and stabbed to death by a group of approximately 12 individuals.

Throughout the trial, MHD maintained his innocence, firmly asserting, “From the beginning, I have maintained my innocence in this case and I will continue to maintain my innocence,” as reported by AFP news agency.
