#FixTheCountry: Okudzeto Ablakwa Condemns The Killing Of Macho Kaaka; Calls For Swift Justice

A social activist and member of #FixTheCountry movement, Kaaka Anyass Ibrahim, popularly known as Macho Kaaka, is reported dead.

Macho Kaaka died after he was attacked by a angry mob at Ejura in the Ashanti Region.

His brutal death has sparked the nation into fire, dominating the media space since yesterday.

Macho Kaaka, as he is known by many and his Facebook followers, uses social media to talk about developmental issues.

He mostly highlights areas of his community that need urgent attention – deplorable, dilapidated and abandoned facilities and stalled projects Ejura community.

This many thought was a good initiative meant to court the attention of duty bearers and prompting them to act, but it will not be long before he attracted opposition that will metamorphose into enemies issuing threats and subsequently going after his life.

Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for the North Tongu in the Volta region, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has reacted to the murder of Macho Kaaka.

The NDC MP took to Twitter to condemn the killing of Macho Kaaka and also called for swift justice for his family.

“A culture of impunity and murderous intolerance cannot be allowed a foothold in our country,” he tweeted.

Economic Fighters League Reactions

The conveners of Fix The Country who had a press conference after the incident say that he was warned for making the NPP government unpopular in the area.

According to them, a report was filed to the police but Kaaka was served with a warning letter by the police, to their surprise, as Kaaka was rather being threatened.

Before this, actress and social media star Andrea Owusu, popularly known as Efia Odo, was arrested by the police after she made an appearance at High Court in Accra over the #FixTheCountry demo case.
