Five Dead in Head-On Collision on Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway

Five people have lost their lives following a head-on collision between a Toyota Hiace bus and a DAF truck on the Cape Coast–Takoradi Highway.

The fatal accident occurred on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Ayensudo Meyinda. The circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be established, but both vehicles were extensively damaged. The DAF truck bore registration number GG 3227-25, while the Toyota Hiace bus carried registration number GW 9373-22.

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) responded swiftly to the incident, deploying a rescue team from the Komenda Fire Station. Firefighters successfully extricated five passengers who were trapped inside the mangled Hiace bus.

Working alongside other emergency agencies, the GNFS team retrieved the bodies of the deceased and cleared debris from the roadway to restore traffic flow and ensure public safety.

Authorities say investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
