
The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with the assault of Michael Quayson, a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School in the Kwaebibirim Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The arrests were carried out on Monday, January 5, 2026, by personnel from the Police Cyber Security Unit, with support from the Kade Police. The suspects reportedly travelled from Accra to Kade as part of ongoing investigations into the incident, which occurred last year.
Confirming the development to Citi News, Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Awoonor Yevu Godwin, said the suspects are expected to be arraigned before the Kade Circuit Court on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
According to him, the arrests mark a significant step toward securing justice for the assaulted teacher and sending a strong signal against violence directed at educators.
The Police Cyber Security Unit has been leading investigations into the case, underscoring the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to holding perpetrators accountable and ensuring the safety of teachers across the country.
