Tragedy struck early Wednesday morning on the Nkenkaasu – Akomadan road in the Offinso North district of the Ashanti region as a head-on collision claimed the lives of at least six individuals.
The incident, which occurred around 4:00 am, involved a Kia vehicle bearing registration number GE-5097-23 and a Yuntong bus registered as EN-3827-2023. Reports indicate that the driver of the Kia lost control, leading to the collision with the Yuntong bus.
The bus, en route from Yendi to Kumasi, was carrying passengers at the time of the accident.
The collision resulted in the immediate loss of six lives, while others sustained critical injuries. Those injured were promptly transported to the Nkenkaasu Government Hospital for medical attention.
This tragic event adds to the grim toll on the Akomadan – Nkenkaasu route, which has seen a total of 13 fatalities in just two weeks, stemming from two separate accidents.
