Fans Vandalize Property at Baba Yara Stadium After Ghana’s Defeat to Angola

Following Ghana’s 1-0 loss to Angola in the 2025 AFCON qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium, some disappointed fans reacted with violence, damaging stadium property. The defeat, which ended Ghana’s 24-year unbeaten run at the stadium, left fans frustrated as the Black Stars struggled throughout the match on a poor pitch.

Angola’s Felicio Milson scored in injury time, securing a crucial win for Angola in Group F. As the match concluded, angry fans threw plastic bottles onto the pitch, and some breached the stadium’s inner perimeter, trampling over and breaking wooden panels.

Before the match, several fans had forced entry by breaking a gate at the T.I. Ahmadiyya section of the stadium. Ghana’s next match is against Niger on Monday, September 9, in Morocco.
