The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has recorded a major success in its ongoing crackdown on organised crime and human trafficking with the arrest of 320 individuals linked to the notorious QNET fraud scheme in Kumasi.

The large-scale operation, conducted on Thursday, November 6, 2025, is being described as Ghana’s biggest anti-human trafficking raid to date. EOCO’s Anti-Human Trafficking Unit executed simultaneous operations at two locations, leading to the arrests.

According to EOCO, preliminary investigations have revealed that 25 of the suspects are believed to be directly involved in the fraudulent network, while 295 individuals are considered victims of human trafficking and employment scams operating under the QNET business model.

This latest operation surpasses a similar raid carried out in Kasoa two weeks ago, which resulted in 26 arrests. EOCO explained that the Kumasi raid was the result of months of detailed investigations aimed at uncovering the criminal syndicate’s network.

In a statement, the agency reaffirmed its commitment to detecting, investigating, and prosecuting cases of economic and organised crime, stressing that all suspects will be thoroughly screened and prosecuted in line with Ghana’s anti-human trafficking laws.

EOCO is also collaborating with QNET to curb the misuse of the company’s brand name for fraudulent recruitment and exploitation schemes.

The QNET model has long been associated with scams that lure victims through promises of quick wealth or overseas employment. Many victims end up trapped in debt or coerced into recruiting others, fitting the pattern of human trafficking under false employment claims.
