East Legon accident: Salifu Amoako, wife plead not guilty

Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako, his wife Mouha Amoako, and Linda Bonsu Bempah have pleaded not guilty to charges of “Permitting an unlicensed person to drive” in connection with a fatal accident in East Legon. The trio appeared in court on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, following the tragic incident.

According to the prosecution, the 16-year-old son of the Amoakos, who did not have a driver’s license, was given the keys to a Jaguar F-Pace Sport SUV by Linda Bonsu Bempah during a family birthday celebration on October 12.

Despite knowing the minor’s lack of a license, he was allowed to drive the vehicle, which resulted in a crash involving an Acura 4×4. The impact caused both cars to catch fire, leading to the deaths of two 12-year-old occupants, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh Boateng.
