A Circuit Court at Sefwi Bodi in the Western North Region has remanded a man suspected to be behind a string of violent robberies in parts of the Juaboso District.
The suspect, Victor Biney, popularly known as Abeiku, was remanded into police custody on Thursday, December 18, 2025, after being arraigned over his alleged involvement in a robbery attack on miners at Sefwi Antobia.
Presiding judge, His Honour Frank Asiedu Nimako, declined a bail application filed by the defence, ordering that the suspect remain in custody. He is expected to reappear before the court on January 15, 2026.
Victor Biney is widely known in Juaboso and surrounding communities, where he reportedly presents himself as a spiritualist. According to police, he claims to provide protective charms and so-called “black powers” to clients seeking protection against gunshots and cutlass attacks.
Police sources revealed that his arrest followed weeks of investigations into a violent robbery at a mining site in Sefwi Antobia. Further investigations have allegedly linked him to several other robbery incidents across the Juaboso area.
Among the cases under investigation is a daylight robbery at a wholesale shop, during which one person was reportedly shot dead and large sums of money stolen.
In addition to the current charges, the suspect is said to be standing trial in a separate criminal case at the Bibiani Circuit Court, where judgment is expected to be delivered on December 22, 2025.
The Juaboso District Police Command has assured residents that investigations are ongoing, with efforts underway to apprehend other individuals believed to be connected to the suspected robbery syndicate.
