COCOBOD Board of Directors Waive Sitting Allowances

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has announced that its Board of Directors will forgo sitting allowances for the remainder of the 2025/26 cocoa season as part of ongoing reforms within the sector.

In a public notice, the Board stated that the decision is aimed at supporting efforts to reform Ghana’s cocoa industry and strengthen its long-term sustainability.

Board members have resolved not to receive any sitting allowances for the rest of the season, describing the move as a demonstration of prudent financial management, shared sacrifice, and responsible leadership during a challenging period for the sector.

The announcement comes under the leadership of Randy Abbey, CEO of COCOBOD, as the institution implements critical reforms to address recent challenges.

It also pledged to continue collaborating with the government and other stakeholders to ensure a resilient and sustainable future for Ghana’s cocoa industry.
