The Civil and Local Government Staff Association, Ghana (CLOGSAG), has announced plans to embark on a nationwide strike beginning Monday, November 4, 2024, citing the prolonged delay in finalizing a new salary structure for its members.
CLOGSAG had previously planned a strike in July 2024 but postponed it after reaching an agreement with the government. The understanding was that a finalized salary structure would be presented by October 31, 2024, with implementation starting from January 1, 2025. However, the deadline is approaching with no concrete offer from the government.
In a statement released on October 22, 2024, CLOGSAG indicated that the lack of progress left them no choice but to proceed with the strike if the issue remains unresolved by the deadline.
