Ghanaian vocalist Byno Ayoni emerged victorious as the winner of Season 12 of TV3’s Mentor music reality show during the weekend’s finale. The 13-week competition serves as a launchpad for undiscovered musical talents in Ghana, providing them with a platform to kickstart their careers.
Byno Ayoni, celebrated for his reggae-dancehall performances, stood out as a frontrunner throughout the show, surpassing fellow finalists L Boat, Majesti, 6ca, and Hy5, who secured the fifth, fourth, third, and second positions, respectively. For his concluding performance, Byno delivered an original composition titled ‘Exaltation’, chronicling his personal journey to prominence in the music industry.
As the winner, Byno earned a range of prizes, including GHS15,000 in cash, a recording contract valued at GHS40,000, airtime valued at GHS50,000 from TV3, GHS10,000 in insurance coverage, and various additional rewards.
Expressing gratitude for the unwavering support received, Byno conveyed, “I am filled with gratitude for the consistent support that has propelled me to this stage. I earnestly seek your ongoing support.”
Organizers commended Byno’s victory, stating, “Byno didn’t merely sing his way to the #MentorXII throne; he redefined what it means to shine on that stage. His distinctive sound, bold choices, and sheer talent exemplify a true champion.”
Notable past winners of the Mentor competition include last year’s champion Too Spyce, Lynx signee DSL, Kweku Bany, and Optional King.
