Bunkpurugu: One Dead, Others Injured in Chieftaincy Dispute

A violent chieftaincy dispute in the Bunkpurugu District of the North East Region has left one person dead and several others injured. The conflict, which took place in the Naniik and Binbagu communities, also led to the destruction of multiple homes, with several houses set ablaze.

According to sources, many residents fled the area, abandoning their belongings as they sought safety. The cause of the dispute remains unclear, but the impact on the affected communities has been significant.
