
The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a theft incident at London Borga, a suburb of Dormaa-Ahenkro, in the Bono Region.
The suspects, identified as 23-year-old Aaron Bawa and 25-year-old Michael Mawuli, were arrested during a police operation on the Sunyani–Berekum highway.
According to a police statement, the complainant, Addai Faustina, a 55-year-old farmer, returned home on December 12, 2025, to discover that her six-bedroom apartment had been broken into. The thieves made away with two 65-inch Hisense television sets valued at GH₵24,000, a decoder worth GH₵350, and cash amounting to GH₵3,000. She promptly reported the incident to the police.
The statement explained that a Regional Operational Patrol team conducting a stop-and-search exercise intercepted a Toyota Sienta passenger vehicle with registration number BR 135-25 on the Sunyani–Berekum highway. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of the stolen items, including the two television sets, a multi-TV decoder with remote control, and electrical cables.
During interrogation, the suspects admitted to stealing the items from the complainant’s residence in Dormaa-Ahenkro.
The two suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, and arrangements are being made to arraign them before court.
The Bono Regional Police Command has assured the public of its continued commitment to combating crime and bringing offenders to justice, while commending residents for their cooperation and timely reporting of criminal activities.
