The game took an unfortunate turn for Ghana when midfielder Abu Francis sustained a serious injury following a challenge with Japan’s Aoi Tanaka.

Ghana’s coach admitted the result was disappointing but stressed that the team would learn from the performance as they shift focus to their next friendly against South Korea in Seoul on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.
