Anita Akua Akuffo is a Ghanaian TV personality, Brand Influencer, and former model. She contested the Miss Malaika Ghana 2014 Beauty Pageant and emerged as a finalist. She currently works with Media General’s TV3. She’s the host of the Entertainment News segment on News 360 and co-host of Date Rush, Ghana Most Beautiful, and the ladies Circle, all on TV3.

Early life

Anita Akua Akuffo was born in Koforidua Old Estate in the Eastern Region of Ghana on June 2, 1993. However, she grew up in Dansoman in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana alongside her siblings. She is 30 years old and a native of Kwahu Mpraeso in the Eastern Region.

Anita’s mother is from Kwahu Mpraeso, and her father is from Obo Kwahu, both in the Eastern Region. Her father is a Businessman, and her mum, who also had a Business she was running, is a housewife now.

Anita Akuffo had her basic and Junior high school education at St. Anthony School in Dansoman. She went to Wesley Grammar in Dansoman for her high school education and proceeded to the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ). Career

Growing up, Anita Akua Akuffo wanted to be an English Lecturer, but her dad didn’t like the idea, so she didn’t know what profession to choose again till she started high school. In her high school Wesley Grammar Senior High, during Assembly, there was a news session called Panorama where two random students read local and International news every week at Assembly. So, one day Anita decided to read the International or world news, and after reading, all students applauded her.

After Assembly, Anita’s assistant headmaster told her she was a good presenter, and that’s when she considered becoming a presenter or journalist. Anita Akua Akuffo enrolled at the Ghana Institute of Journalism after high school, and in her first year, she participated in a beauty pageant called Miss GIJ. Subsequently, in 2012 she participated in Miss Ecowas, where she became a runner-up.

In 2014, while she was still in GIJ, she participated in the Miss Malaika beauty pageant and made it to the finals.

Though she didn’t win the pageant, she landed a job at Solid Multimedia, where she hosted a fashion show called Fashion GH. From Solid Multimedia, she joined EIB’s GhOne TV. In 2016, she co- hosted the Miss Malaika Ghana 2016 Launch with Berla Mundi and a few seasons of the pageant.

In May 2019, she left GhOne TV and was unemployed till January 2020, when she joined Media General’s TV3 Network. She is currently a presenter at TV3 Ghana. She is the presenter for the Entertainment Segment on News 360 and co-host of Date Rush, Ladies Circle, and Ghana Most Beautiful.
