Bawumia Visits Injured KNUST Student, Donates GH¢50,000 for Medical Care

The 2024 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has visited a Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) student who was stabbed in Kumasi on Monday, April 28, offering a donation of GH¢50,000 to support his medical treatment.

The student, identified as Herbert, is a member of Unity Hall’s “jama group” and was part of a cheering team that performed during the NPP’s “Thank You Tour” in the Bantama Constituency on Tuesday, April 29.

According to reports, Herbert was stabbed during a post-event altercation involving his group and another unidentified group over a monetary dispute.

Currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Herbert was visited by Dr. Bawumia on Wednesday evening, April 30. He was accompanied by key NPP officials as part of his ongoing tour of the Ashanti Region.

Dr. Bawumia expressed deep sympathy for the student and thanked God for preserving his life. He also wished him a speedy recovery and encouraged the family during the difficult time.

The victim’s grandmother, who accepted the donation on his behalf, extended heartfelt thanks to Dr. Bawumia and the NPP delegation for their timely support and show of concern.
