Bawumia donates GH¢200K, 1,000 bags of cement to Adum fire victims

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has donated GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to support traders affected by the recent fire outbreak at Adum, Kumasi.

The devastating fire, which broke out on Friday, March 24, destroyed numerous shops and stalls in the busy commercial district, leading to the loss of goods worth millions of Ghana cedis.

During his visit to the scene on Tuesday, March 25, Dr. Bawumia expressed his sympathies to the affected traders and encouraged individuals and businesses to contribute to their recovery efforts.

“I am donating GH¢200,000 and 1,000 bags of cement to the victims, and I urge private individuals to also support the traders in getting their livelihoods back,” he stated.

The donation is expected to help traders rebuild their structures and restart their businesses. Dr. Bawumia’s gesture has been widely appreciated by the victims and local authorities, who continue to appeal for more support to help those affected get back on their feet.
