Ashanti Region: Four arrested in Ofoase Kokobeng armed robbery case

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects linked to an armed robbery incident that took place at Ofoase Kokobeng near Anwiankwanta. The suspects, identified as Salifu Adamu alias Scorpion, 25; Abdul Latif alias Bullet, 20; Samed Abdulai, 40; and Ali Mustapha, 30, were apprehended following swift police operations across the region.

According to police reports, the victim, Aliu Mohammed, was robbed of gold, cash, a mobile phone, a pump-action gun and his Toyota Camry Spider with registration number GR 8009-15 during the attack on December 8, 2025. Briefing the media in Bekwai on Friday, December 12, the Ashanti South Regional Commander, DCOP Joseph Hammond Nyaaba, said officers acted promptly upon receiving the report and traced the victim’s vehicle to Ofoase Kokoben township, although the suspects had fled before police arrived.

Further intelligence led to the arrest of two of the suspects, Salifu Adamu and Abdul Latif, at the Tweapease Police checkpoint around 6 p.m. on December 9, 2025. Their interrogation assisted police in pursuing and arresting the remaining suspects, Samed Abdulai and Ali Mustapha, at Tweapease the following morning around 8 a.m. on December 10, 2025.

DCOP Nyaaba urged criminals to desist from unlawful activities and encouraged the public to cooperate with the police to ensure a peaceful and crime-free Christmas season.
