Amasaman Court Jails Two Robbers 17 Years Each for Violent Attack

The Amasaman Circuit Court has sentenced two men, Lawrence Fumato, popularly known as Rasta, aged 28, and Daniel Dzoka, also called Alkaline, aged 20, to 17 years imprisonment each for their involvement in a violent robbery near the Golden Exotic Farm at Agbazo in Accra.

The robbery occurred on November 12, 2025, when the duo attacked two individuals with a pair of scissors and made away with a Royal 150 motorbike, a Samsung phone, a Tecno Spark 8, an Itel keypad phone, and GH¢4,000 in cash.

Police intelligence operations led to their arrest on November 17, 2025. The suspects later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery, in violation of Sections 23(1) and 149 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).

The court ordered that the 17-year jail terms run concurrently.

The Accra Regional Police Command commended residents for their assistance in the investigation and encouraged continued public cooperation by reporting suspicious activities through 18555 or 191.
